Payroll and Employee Benefits Clerk - Business Office
Job Summary: Performs duties included in calculating, processing, distributing, reporting, and recording of the Hospital Employees’ Payroll and Benefit files. Job duties also include enrolling new employees into different benefit insurance plans such as health Insurance, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, dental, vision, and insurance coverage for catastrophic events. Prepares and issues new ID cards and electronic door keys for our hospital employees. Enrolls employees into THA Retirement Plan, Credit Union Savings Plan participation and assists employees with other optional employee deductions.
OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Category III.
Job Qualifications:
A. Education: High School and Associates Degree in Accounting. College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel and MS Word programs is necessary. Ability with reconciling invoices related to employee fringe benefits is a plus. Good personal communication skills and knowledge of general office clerical duties such as filing personnel records and communicating via e-mail with insurance vendors.
C. Should be familiar with payroll rules and regulations including over-time payment compensation, FMLA, and HIPAA Law.
D. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.
E. Experience:
Prior Work Experience: One year of business office experience in a medical setting, experience with payroll duties and responsibilities is preferred.

F. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching is required with lifting of items up to 20 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow routine written and verbal instructions or directions.
